The **Business area access** dropdown appears below the **Additional user access** dropdown and lets you grant contract access based on business areas within your organisation. Select one or more business areas to grant access to the contract. Users assigned to the selected business areas are automatically granted access, provided they also have access to at least one group company associated with the contract.
Users added through **Business area access** can view and edit the contract by default. However, if their user roles include permission restrictions, their access may be limited.
To tag the contract with specific departments for organisational purposes without granting department members access, use the business area dropdown in Step 1. > **Tip:** Only users who belong to a selected business area **and** have access to at least one associated group company will gain access to the contract.
