How to create customers in .legal
Manage your compliance effortlessly by adding your customers to .legal under the Legal Entities tab.
1. Navigate to "Legal entities" and "Customers"
- Navigate to the "Legal Entities" Tab in the main menu and select "Customers" in the sub menu.
2. Click "Create legal entity"
- Click on "Create legal entity" to initiate the setup of a company profile.
3. Fill "Name" and "Country" and click "Create"
4. Fill in step 1 "Description"
- Fill in the required fields. The light gray fields are optional and do not need to be filled in.
- Specify Company Type: The field "Type" is prefilled with "Customer". You can change the company type in the dropdown. After specifying the company as a customer, it will be available for selection in scenarios where you are acting as a data processor, among other contexts. For further information, please click here.
5. Click "Next"
- Proceed to the next step.
6. Fill in step 2 "Associations"

Select "Responsible" and "Business area(s)"
7. Fill in step 3 "Audit"
- Select "Audit type" and "Audit frequency"
8. Fill in step 4 "Compliance areas and certifications"
- Select "Compliance areas" and "Certifications"
9. Your company is created. Click "Overview" to see all details.
At the overview you can:
- Add classification
- See any linked assets
- See any transfers
- Send audits
- Upload Documents: In the "Documents" tab of the newly created customer profile, you have the option to upload essential documents, such as data processing agreements.
- Register Contact Details: Finally, under the "Contact" tab, you can add details of your customer's contact person(s) for seamless communication.
- Create task(s) or relate to existing tasks.
