Preview Documents in the Platform
Document preview lets you view documents directly within the platform without downloading them. This is available across all modules where documents are stored - contracts, policies, processing activities, assets, and more.
Supported Formats
The document preview supports the following file types:
- PDF documents
- Word documents (.doc, .docx)
- Images (PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and other common formats)
How to Preview a Document
- Navigate to any record that contains documents (e.g., a contract, policy, or processing activity).
- Open the Documents tab, then click the document name or the preview icon.
- The document opens in an inline viewer directly within the platform — no separate window or download required.
Navigation Features
While previewing a document, you can use the following controls:
- Press the arrow keys to cycle through multiple documents in the list without closing the preview.
- For PDFs, use the search function to find and highlight specific text within the document. Note: full-text search is not available for image files.
- Click Close (or press Esc) to return to the documents list.
Preview from Search Results
If you use the platform's document search or the Document Search & OCR add-on, you can open a document preview directly from the search results. This lets you quickly confirm whether a result is the document you need — without leaving the search view.
